He Kupu o te Ra

He mihi tēnei ki te whānau whānui.
This is a greeting to the extended (wider) family.

Ko tōku whaea te tuara whānui o tō mātou whānau.
My mother is the (broad back) anchor of our family.  He Kupu o Te Ra

 

Fried Bread

INTRODUCTION -

Fried bread can utilize any of the Maori Bread recipes listed in the Kai Index; it is in the method that makes it different.  For ease of understanding I will be using the Takakau recipe below.  Fried bread is delicious served hot and spread with butter, jams and/or golden syrup and a hot cup of tea or coffee.
